For a month, before I hopped into bed at night, I cleansed with my regular milky cleanser, then I exfoliated with Clearista Retexturizing Gel, and then I moisturized. Often, but not always, I would do the same routine when I woke up in the morning. The directions say that the product is safe to use up to twice a day, and I was impatient for results. When I got lazy, during the last few weeks or so, I put a dab of the Clearista Retexturizing Gel together with my cleanser to avoid the extra step in the skin care process (I think I saw Katie Couric once do this with her moisturizer and self tanner), and it seemed to work just fine.
And the results were incredible. Here is what I found after using Clearista Retexturizing Gel on my face from the end of February to mid April:
- absolutely fewer breakouts (not one of those awful, deep boil/pimples that last for weeks.)
- my complexion turned from dull and dry to much more bright, vibrant, smooth and soft. My skin actually feels nice to the touch- softer- more pliable. When I apply moisturizer after exfoliating with Clearista Retexturizing Gel, the moisturizer seems to work better. My skin felt soft rather than dried out first thing in the morning.
- reduction in pore size. Not my imagination– at least I don’t think so. Regular exfoliation removes the dirt stuck deep inside your pores. When pores become clogged, they appear larger- when you exfoliate regularly, they begin to diminish in size.
- reduction in sun spots. Skin that’s not blocked by layers of dead cells and dirt looks better, more radiant. I actually went out of the house without any makeup at all (ok, just to the gym, but still…)
