Clearista targets surface keratin—a dead protein that sits atop the skin—delivering a patented combination of ingredients that rapidly hydrates, smooths, and softens skin. It improves the appearance of rough or pigmented blemishes on the skin’s surface, and users often notice a difference after one application.
Our formula is water-based and oil-free, so is does not work by “coating” the skin. Rather, it targets the skin’s excess surface keratin, which is known to cause uneven texture and roughness as we age. Due to this targeted exfoliation and hydration, the smoothness you feel after using Clearista is actually the improved texture of your skin.
Excess keratin is known to cause uneven texture and roughness as we age, so regular use of Clearista is appropriate. The skin’s response to Clearista does not appear to diminish after multiple uses. In addition, multiple uses would not cause your skin to build up a tolerance to our patented formula.
Yes. Clearista can be easily integrated into your normal skincare routine. It is an ideal solution for anyone wanting to simultaneously smooth and hydrate his or her skin.
Melasma is caused from an increase in certain hormones, often during pregnancy. Since Clearista is made to only affects the skin's surface, it should not be considered a way to treat hyperpigmentation caused by hormonal changes.
Scaring from acne varies in size, depth, and pigmentation. Clearista products have not been tested for efficacy in addressing facial scaring and do not contain common ingredients often found in products touted to treat scaring. We recommend consulting a licensed esthetician or dermatologist to determine the best course of action for your skin type.
If your doctor recommends Retin-A products, Clearista should not replace their use. While we have not performed any studies with the combination of Retin-A and Clearista, users have found Clearista to be non irritating with longer term use and compatible with many products. Because we have not done testing, we do not recommend using Retin-A and Clearista in succession. However, using Clearista in your morning routine, and using Retin-A in your evening routine may be a skincare regimine that could work well. As always, discontinue use if irritation or redness occur, and make sure to consult your dermatologist about any contraindications.
Clearista should be safe to use after Botox or Juvederm injections and is compatible with most other skincare products. Since Clearista works only at the skin's surface, contraindications would be irritated or open skin, including sunburns. As always, discontinue use if irritation or redness occurs and consult a dermatologist to understand any contraindications of medicated skincare products you may have been prescribed.
The ingredients used in all our products are safe for use in cosmetic products. We have had no reported instances of allergic skin reactions. Clearista is also ideal for sensitive skin types since our products are hypoallergenic, free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, contain no parabens, and have been thoroughly tested on a variety of skin types.
No. Clearista products are cruelty-free.
Our patented formula helps to loosen keratin and related surface proteins while allowing water to move freely from the polymer in Clearista to immediately and persistently hydrate the keratin layer. While hyaluronic acid is naturally abundant and may be well suited for injections under the skin surfaces, it has no effect on skin’s surface proteins, including keratin. Many enzymes throughout the body rapidly degrade hyaluronic acid and it is unstable in our formula when compared with the other safe/gentle polymers we’ve selected.
The Clearista Smoothing Facial is a gentle yet effective facial offered by many of our Clearista Providers. It is ideal for those struggling with rough or uneven skin and who want to avoid the inconvenience and recovery time associated with harsh peels, acids, and lasers. The facial combines both the Clearista Retexturizing Gel and Professional Clearista Refining Pen.
With frequent use, the gel reduces the appearance of a wide range of raised and/or pigmented skin imperfections, including rough skin bumps, rough or dry patches, fine lines, sun-related skin lines/folding, and “chicken skin.” It also helps to hydrate and smooth the skin.
Yes. We have had no reported instances of allergic skin reactions with the Clearista Retexturizing Gel. We consider Clearista products safe for sensitive skin since they are hypoallergenic, free of synthetic dyes and fragrances, contain no parabens, and have been thoroughly tested on a variety of skin types.
Cleanse normally (optional) and apply to skin. Massage gently using a circular motion for 30-60s. Rinse with warm water or simply wipe off excess exfoliants. Follow with normal skincare routine. Use up to twice daily.
The gel can be applied to either wet or dry skin. We saw slightly better results when applied to dry skin because the Clearista solution wasn't diluted by water upon application. However, if you use the gel right after cleansing (when your face is wet) you'll still see plenty of benefits. The greatest results you'll see with Clearista come from consistent use. If it's easier to use the gel daily after cleansing, then don't worry too much that you're missing out on the benefits.
Everyone’s skin is different, and results will vary. However, many people have noted that their skin feels smoother after one application. For rougher dry patches like “chicken skin,” it may take 3+ weeks to start to feel a consistent difference.
Yes. Our jojoba esters are certified Ecobeads® which are a proven biodegradable exfoliant. They are suitable for daily use and guaranteed to be free from polyethylene and other microplastics.
We recommend using the gel up to twice daily. We also recommend using the gel for a “Clearista Mask” at least once a week.
Clearista Mask: Generously apply gel to cover the face and neck, careful to avoid the eyes. Let gel sit for 8-10 minutes. Use enough gel to ensure skin stays moist. After letting the gel sit, gently massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry. Follow normal skincare routine
This consumer pen is designed to target fine lines, rough or dry patches, and skin bumps.
The number of applications varies based on the size of the area you're addressing, but we've found 4-5 applications to be standard.
Cleanse skin. Twist the bottom of the pen clockwise until the pen tip is damp with the solution. Using the pen, apply solution to the problem area. Use the tip of the pen to rub area for up to 90 seconds. Continue to apply more solution from the pen to keep the area moist. When finished, let remaining solution absorb into skin. Reserve product for personal use. Discard pen 30 days after opening. For best results, use with Clearista Retexturizing Gel™.
Yes. We’ve found that applying the gel first and letting it sit for 1-2 minutes helps to prime the skin. After using the gel, follow the instructions provided with the Consumer Clearista Refining Pen™.
The Clearista Smoothing Facial is a gentle yet incredibly effective facial offered by many of our Clearista Providers. It is ideal for those struggling with rough or uneven skin and who want to avoid the irritation and recovery time associated with harsh peels and lasers. The facial combines both the gel and professional pen.
The professional pen works mainly on surface keratin, delivering a patented combination of ingredients that rapidly hydrates keratin and soothes, softens and improves the appearance of either rough or pigmented blemishes on the skin’s surface in real time.
The Professional Clearista Refining Pen is an extremely gentle, non-corrosive, and controlled cosmetic product designed to target rough or pigmented surface keratin imperfections, with little chance for tissue damage to deeper layers or surrounding skin.
Our experience is that the appearance of individual blemishes or seborrheic keratosis (SKs) does not reappear after application. However, our product does not change the underlying condition causing an SK, and new SKs may reappear at any site, including sites near to the original.
Because excess surface keratin (known to cause uneven texture and roughness) may continue to occur, regular use of the professional pen is appropriate. The response does not appear to diminish after multiple applications.
